Okay guys, I am getting a ton of questions about the ways to get credit for driving traffic to the site, and so I am going to try to break it down as simply as possible. First and foremost-- THANK YOU! Your help is greatly appreciated and I'm glad to know that so many people are enjoying the site that they are wanting to tell their friends about it. Here's how you can do that and get either free gear or actual MONEY for doing it.
There are essentially three ways that you can receive credit for this. The first is through the namecard that is available in your profile, the second is through the affiliate program, and the third is through the "Invite" tool that you see in the main menu. I'll discuss them individually...
The Namecard feature is kind of like a standing invite that you can add in HTML code (MySpace, personal websites), bbcode (discussion forums that allow bbcode), and text links (emails, sites like facebook that don't allow any code). The way that you can edit your namecard is to go into your profile and click "Update your Profile" and click on the "My Invitations" tab. This will allow you to add your own message and auto-connect with members that click your namecard. You can view your name card by clicking on the "My Invitations" tab in your public profile view and clicking on the link that says "(username)'s Namecard."
In order to draw traffic to your namecard, you can use the HTML code to display the image that you see below the namecard in websites or MySpace pages, or you can use the bbcode to display it in message forums. Upon clicking the image, the user will be brought to your name card.
The next way that I mentioned is through the affiliate links. When you activated your account, you were also approved as an affiliate of this site. To get your information for the affiliate account, please click the link in the main menu that says "Affiliate" and enter your login information into the appropriate boxes. Your username and password are the same that you use on the main login area to the site. Once you are logged in, please look over to the left hand said for all of the different marketing tools. If you have your own site, then you probably already know how to use most of these tools. You will see a way that you can automatically generate your affiliate link in banners (that are designed to look good on a MySpace page), text links for emails, and many other tools. If you have any questions on how to use any of these tools, please reply to this message and I'll be glad to help you out. The html code that you will need for each of them is underneath the tools and is preloaded with your affiliate link in it. Now if you display the banners or links and someone clicks on it, their browser will have your cookie installed in it. That way if they purchase any of the videos, you will receive credit for 60% of the money that they spend on the videos. That means that I will actually pay you (through check or paypal) 60% of all the money spent on videos that you generate!
The last way to receive credit for bringing people to the site is the Invite tool. There is a new link in the main navigational bar that says "Invite." If you click that, you will be redirected to a page where you can manually type in your friends email addresses or you can even import them from your favorite email address book. You can also type in your own personal message in the box there and it will send an invitation to all of the people you designate. For each person that accepts the invitation, you will receive 2 Karma Points. These Karma points are the equivalent to making a good post in the Discussion Board, and will soon help you in the competitions that we will be running from within the site. If you tell your friends about us, we want to reward you! We will be doing so with gear, videos, iPods, and much more in the near future- so get started now!
