The following was sent out in an email on 4/21 to all of the registered users.
TrainFightWin.com is asking for YOUR help! In an effort to reach more and more users through the internet, we are looking for members of ours that are willing to spend five minutes and help us out. We have told you about all of the different incentives that we are doing for helping spread the word about our site, and now we are making it even easier to do so. I am going to keep this email nice and short, and ask you to please help me in this advertising experiment. I know that A TON of our members have MySpace pages that they use regularly, and I know that MySpace can be a valuable tool for our site. In short, I am asking you to take five minutes to insert a small image that is linked to your Namecard.
To do so, go to your profile at trainfightwin.com after you login. At the bottom of the screen there is a tab open that says "My Invitations" and has a link that says "(Username)'s Namecard". Click that link. Now scroll to the bottom of the pop up window and you will see an image with three text boxes above it. Copy the HTML (the code in the middle text box) into your MySpace Page and it will add that small image with your namecard link in it. If someone clicks it, they will be directed to your namecard page. If they join the site from there, it's just like you sending them a personal invite and them accepting. I've got it on three of my MySpace pages and it has pulled in literally 18 people in 8 days.
I hope that everyone is enjoying the new layout for the profile pages. We have steered away from the tabbed window view that we previously had and have implemented more of a MySpace or Facebook layout. Let me know if you have any questions using the features in the profile!
Thanks so much for your help in this. If you are one of the people that actually place this link in their MySpace page or other website, PLEASE post a link to that page in the discussion board. I'm sure everyone would love to see your handy work, and I would love to show my appreciation for helping the site grow!
