I recently finished watching the entire original series of DVDs. For experienced grapplers you might find a few useful tweaks to your techniques.
I found it somewhat lacking in the basics, there is nothing about standing techniques or takedowns.
I just ordered his latest series Snap No Tap which promises to be more comprehensive.
All this stuff is in the same vein as Mark Hatmaker's instructional material.

Okay, I've watched most of the series. It is pretty good and covers the A-Z of fighting, but Cechinne's instructional style is not exactly concise. Personally I prefer Hatmaker's treatment of the same material.

I don't blame you for not liking it. I could easily have been condensed to half the length and there really wasn't anything new in it.

I didn't think much of the submissions holds he showed would work well in mma, I mean some of them were just stuff i hadn't seen before and probably didn't really understand them but my instinct was that it was a pile of shite. If catch wrestling submissions were that effective then I assume we would be seeing them here and there but never have I seen any sort of arm crush tap someone in the ufc or dream or strikeforce.

If you haven't seen CACC used in MMA then you just aren't looking very hard. Watch the Shamrocks, Eric Paulson, Dan Severn and quite a few others. CACC was easily and intentioally washed out in the overwhelming white noise that BJJ created in the 90's. The Gracies were particularly harsh when it came to CACC being considered an alternative submission fighting methedology. They started by calling it fake. Then they incorperated some of the more similar movements into Gracie BJJ then claimed CACC was "stealing" techniques. And then they banned more extreme and obviously CACC techniques from BJJ competition considerng them to be too "dangerous". Techniques like the Grovit and some of the more leveraged spine locks and even some of the more stylized and brutal leg and ankle locks. I've been DQed from a couple no-gi tournies for using the grovit and standing/prone leg locks. Both techniques BTW I have used in MMA as well as arm/leg crushes, neck torques, face locks and CACC inspried spine locks. Very effective techniques because they are extremely painful and very very potentially crippling.
