This is a rough draft and I might come back before the fight with some updates, but my first thoughts are below. Here it goes:

Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
If I had to bet my life's savings- I'd have to go with Lesnar. He's too big and too strong. Though his skills are awful and I think he's an insult to this sport, he is a freak of nature. That being said- I think that Mir looked better than he ever has in his career when he fought Nog. I hope that Mir not only beats Brock, but embarrasses him. Not that it will matter though- with the special treatment that Brock gets, he'll get an immediate rematch (perhaps even later that night) until he wins the belt. Dana wants his meat-head poster child to win so badly that it's disgusting. I think Mir is on an entirely different level than most of the people in that weight class, and is light years ahead of Brock's skill level. That being said, Brock has to be the favorite going into this fight.

Other than the hype that this fight has gotten on this forum, I really have no interest in any fight of Brock Lesnar's. I would love for people to boycott every card that this freak show is on so that Dana would fall out of lust with him- but it won't happen. I have little interest in Brock Lesnar because his skill level sucks.

GSP vs. Thiago Alves
I think that this fight has Fight of the Night written all over it. This is HUGE. I think that this will be the biggest test that GSP has had yet. Alves has incredible striking, is MASSIVE for 170 lbs, and poses some real problems for GSP. The champ, on the other hand, is always in peak shape and ready to go the distance. He's definitely the favorite going into this fight, but I think that Alves poses a whole different threat than the vast majority of his opponents. This should be the main event, instead of Mir vs. The FreakShow. GSP by TKO in round 4 - though this could easily be a KO either way!

Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson
We all have our favorite fighters, and we all have those guys that we're not so fond of. Michael Bisping makes me cringe. I can't stand his British accent or his cocky attitude (no offense to any Brits on this forum). This one could be an action packed fight, but I think that ol' Decision Dan will do his thing-- win by decision.

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
This should be an interesting fight. I think that Belcher will inflict more damage so if he doesn't gas he should be able to win a decision. That being said, I think Akiyama poses a huge threat with his submissions. I think that Akiyama will submit Belcher. If not- Belcher by decision. This fight could be a battle, and I'm not sure how to call it either way!

Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
Could be an interesting matchup- but I'm going with Fitch TKO round 2.

As for the undercard- who knows. Anything can happen. I love watching the undercard matchups, but here's an attempt:

Mac Danzig vs. Jim Miller - Danzig via decision
Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman - Bonnar by Coleman having a stroke (why is he still fighting?)
Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien - Jones by TKO
C.B. Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor - CB by decision (though I cannot stand his arrogance or his white sunglasses-- what a tool!)
Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant - Kim by decision or submission
Matt Grice vs. Shannon Gugerty - Gugerty by decision

Lesnar finished his amateur wrestling career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, 1998 NJCAA Heavyweight Champion, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

He is skilled, he has the best wrestling ever seen in the UFC other than Randy or Dan for me and the power in his hands is ridiculous, straight rights had Mir and Herring in serious trouble. He is so fast too for his size, he is an absolute freak i agree but its not his fault, he is the best heavyweight in the UFC at the moment and think of how good he will get, considering he can dominate Herring and KO Randy(only second time its happened i think) and finish Mir(their first fight should have been stopped, brock didn even get a warning for hitting to the back of the head, i reckon mazagatti has the same opinion as you and decided to help Mir). As for his attitude, i understand hes very arrogant and not very likeable but you cant play down how good a fighter he is, he has beaten everyone infront of him in my eyes and its no embarrassment to get subbed by Mir. Brock will be the champ for a long long time i think.

Ok special treatment? anderson silva got a shot at the title by beating chris leben, brock beats herring and doesn't deserve one? everyone wanted to see brock-couture, who could have fought randy? kongo? maybe but we all know brock is better than kongo so why not give him a shot?. I know Kongo had paid his dues to the UFC and deserved the shot but Randy would have beaten Kongo for sure, we know that, but with brock it was alot more interesting fight, wrestler v wrestler, the old guard vs up and comer, UFC 91 wouldn't have sold over a million PPVs. We need to attract people to the sport of MMA in order for it to grow and i think a guy like brock helps that immensely.

I really think brock is a special case, what if say jet li started MMA and beat sakuraba or someone on a small show in his first fight and got a chance to fight in the UFC and fought Demian Maia kicked him all around the ring for 2 mins then got subbed, by then we know hes a good fighter, just needs to get submission defence, next fight he comes out and kicks nate marquardt around the ring for 3 rounds, would you not think he deserves a shot at silva? after having beating a contender to a pulp?

Other than the hype that this fight has gotten on this forum, I really have no interest in any fight of Brock Lesnar's. I think you are holding his pro wrestling days against him and need to open your mind and see what he can do in the octagon without thinking of him as the brash trash talker he is, and see how good a fighter he is. Matt Hughes made a career of slamming and laying on people, if brock does the same should he be put down in history differently cos he did it in a time when you are meant to be well rounded? and every sport has a bad guy, brock talks shit but no more than Dan Hardy does or Ken Shamrock or Tito.

If this were a NCAA wrestling match- all that would be great... But it isn't... He's still one-dimensional, arrogant, brash, and not well-rounded.

...considering he can dominate Herring and KO Randy(only second time its happened i think)
Liddell did it twice that I know of off-hand.

As for his attitude, i understand hes very arrogant and not very likeable
Understatement of the year. Exactly my point. He received special treatment and acts like he somehow deserved it. If the guy had one ounce of respect I might could stomach him. If he had to pay his dues like any other fighter, same deal-- but since neither is true, I despise him.

I completely agree. So why did everyone go "Oh poor steroid boy- he should've won!?!?"

Brock will be the champ for a long long time i think.
I pray not- but IF he is, it's only because of a skewed weight class; not because of superior skills. Please see my post regarding the HW class and how disproportionate it is for that argument.

Ok special treatment? anderson silva got a shot at the title by beating chris leben, brock beats herring and doesn't deserve one?
Anderson Silva had an established career in Pride. Brock did not. Brock HAD NEVER WON A FRIGGIN FIGHT IN THE UFC AND GOT A TITLE SHOT-- HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? So yes- he received special treatment. Please, nobody try to argue that point- it's beyond ridiculous...

everyone wanted to see brock-couture, who could have fought randy?
A lot of people wanted to see Nog- the guy that deserved the shot at that time. Exactly the way it was supposed to be (by Joe Silva- the matchmaker of the UFC).

I really think Brock is a special case
Dana clearly agrees.

what if say jet li started MMA and beat sakuraba or someone on a small show in his first fight...
Tell him to pay his dues like every other fighter and I welcome him. Might not agree with his style, but I sure don't like a spoiled brat.

I think you are holding his pro wrestling days against him and need to open your mind and see what he can do in the octagon
I'm all for that- IF HE HAD TO PAY THE SAME DUES AS THE OTHER FIGHTERS!

...without thinking of him as the brash trash talker he is,
You're asking me to see the man as something other than he is?!?

brock talks sh!t but no more than Dan Hardy does or Ken Shamrock or Tito.
I didn't like those guys either...
