Be warned- my frustrated two cents spoils the Couture-Coleman fight if you haven't seen it yet.
Warning Spoiler!I'm pretty sure that this fight was a desperate attempt at a few dollars between what used to be MMA and what is MMA. This was never even close to being a legitimate fight.
To let Mark Coleman fight Randy Couture in a main event of a Pay-Per-View fight in 2010 should warrant an apology from the UFC. That's not to take anything away from Randy-- the guy is a hero to MMA. But COME ON!!!
Aside from that, I really thought that UFC 109 was a good card. It included some great fights and some surprising finishes. The 170 lb class has a new stud in it, Maia showed some improvements in the stand up category, and for a card without a title fight- it was certainly entertaining.
The post-fight interview with Mark Coleman was far more entertaining than his fight. (I don't think him and Tito will go to the post-fight party together.)
Any thoughts?
