I know that the focus is on brock vs carwin, but i am about to graduate and will not have time to post about the fight when it comes around so i am giving my 2 cents right now. While Sonnen is a very good contender, i do not think he is well rounded enough to ever be champion. He is a very two sided. A great wrestler and striker but chooses to ignore his jitz game.i think in order to be a viable contender these day, you have be pretty decent at jitz. his fight history shows he is very succeptible to subsmissions maia and forrest griffin both submitted him with relative ease. Although, Silva is know for his striking, he still is a brazilian jui jitsu black belt. After all, he did submit Travis Lutter, a Bjj black belt.My prediction, Silva by submission is round 2. I do however, like Sonnen's personality and that he is a very respectable businessman and politician. i know someday someone will beat staller silva but i just do not think it will be Chael

I certainly think that Silva will one day be de-throned, but I don't think it will be by Chael Sonnen. I do think it will take a very tough wrestler to take out Spider. I think that a bigger Dan Henderson could foot the bill. Someone who can take him down and make it an ugly, painful fight... Not someone who stands there and watches him dance- but someone who makes it rough. That's the kind of fighter that will beat Anderson.

I don't think Chael will be the man for the job, but I do think that he might show us all a side of Anderson that we've never seen.

Chael has been continuing his verbal onslaught against Anderson... Should be enough to motivate Anderson to engage in a fight. But who knows... After the antics we've seen lately- anything is possible from The Spider.

I honestly think Sonnen has a legit shot. He's just got to get past that pin point accuracy of Silvas. Never seen Silva in a clinch he didn't iniciate. I think if Sonnen gets in tight and just gets dirty w/o letting Silva get control of the clinch to knee. He can get it to the ground and GnP a TKO victory. Sonnen is a proficient jitz guy, a more than proficient wrestler and really big for MW. I give him a distict edge on the ground. If I were Sonnen I'd play Andersons game to the nines. I'd refuse to engage and evade until Silva gets frustrated and makes a move. The last few fights have made it quite clear that Silva is exceptionally in love with his image and his percieved invincibility as a fighter. When you get that into yourself, getting stalled out tends to shake your confidence. I think if Sonnen can force Silva to stall vs Silva dictating the pace he can get in The Spiders noggin.

It's getting about that time. I really wish Sonnen could take this one. I really don't see it going his way though. I really do think it will be someone very similar to Sonnen that one day takes that belt-- I just don't think it will be Chael. I think that Chael will bleed a lot and that it will be a dirtier fight than Spider is used to... That being said- I think doctor stoppage by fourth round...

Just my thoughts. That being said- I'd LOVE to see Anderson get his tail whipped by Chael Saturday night!
