I don't Think the Card system would work all that well, mainly because the casual viewer of The UFC or someone who is not familiar with Pride or K1 would not have any idea what they meant and The commentators would spend a lot of Time explaining them. I think The UFC and other fight leagues need to make sure That the Refs understand that in those situations ( Multiple Eye Pokes, Knees to the back of The head or knees to downed Opponents) The Ref needs to exercise more Power In taking away points. There should be penalties in those situations and a Fight should Not be won because of a Fowl.

its fighting its not soccer. i like the way they do it now. if the foul is unintentional, you get a nc. if its bad, you get disqualified. i like it being as closed to a no holds barred fight as possible.

I meant for the cards to be used a little more to get the fight started. Such as Arlofski and Sylvia's third fight and Starnes running from Quarry some of those guys should have gotten a serious pay reduction for that crap. No holds barred or not 2 guys circling and another guy running is not much of a fight. They might as well have just thrown a soccer ball in the ring it might have made the fights alittle more interesting.

It's a good point but where do you draw the line?? I know a lot of people who thought Lyoto Machida was running from Ortiz their whole fight. When in fact it was just a superb display of effective hit and run tactics. The WCL takes points from fighters who won't engage. And I have yet to see two refs in the WCL call it the same. It's very subjective and open to personal opinion on the refs part. I know it's intended to encourage the fighters to keep up the action. But all in all it's got to be one of the most retarded rules I have witnessed in a fight sport.

You have a glaring example in Starnes vs Quarry of where a card system would benifit. But does that happen enough to really warrant more rules??
